Tecumseh carburetor series 9 is an associated emission that makes use of identical carburetor body as that in the case of series 8 however with a common mounted idle system that is identical to the one used in the case of series 6. A unique feature of these series includes a discharge port that is ideally located exactly at the 7 ‘o’ clock. SERIES 1 EMISSION. This carburetor is similar to the standard Series 1 carburetor. The emission equivalent has a fixed idle and main. The idle restrictor jet will be capped to prevent access unless the cap is removed. The fixed main jet is part of the bowl nut. A ball plug is visible from the bottom, which seals the passage. Series 1 Emission Similar to standard series 1 carburetor, the emission equivalent in this series has a fixed idle as well as main. When it is in use, the cap on idle restrictor jet is removed otherwise it remains on whole time. For identification purpose you can easily look for the fixed main jet that is a part of bowl nut in the model. A.APPLICABILITY:Thiswarrantyshallapplyto1995andlatermodelyearCaliforniautilityandlawnandgardenequipment
engines(forotherstates,1997andlatermodelyearengines).TheECSWarrantyPeriodshallbeginonthedatethenewengine
orequipmentisdeliveredtoitsoriginal,end-usepurchaser,andshallcontinuefor24consecutivemonthsthereafter.
B.GENERALEMISSIONSWARRANTYCOVERAGE:TecumsehProductsCo.warrantstotheoriginal,end-usepurchaserofthe
newengineorequipmentandtoeachsubsequentpurchaserthateachofitsutilityandlawnandgardenequipmentenginesis:
1. Designed,builtandequippedsoastoconformwithallapplicableregulationsadoptedbytheAirResourcesBoardpursuantto
itsauthorityinChapters1 and2,Part5,Division26oftheHealthandSafetyCode,and
2. Freefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipwhich,atanytimeduringtheECSWarrantyPeriod,willcauseawarranted
emissions-relatedparttofailtobeidenticalinallmaterialrespectstothepartasdescribedintheenginemanufacturer's
C.TheECSWarrantyonlypertainstoemissions-relatedpartsonyourengine,asfollows:
1.Anywarranted,emissions-relatedpartswhicharenotscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceintheOwner's
ManualshallbewarrantedfortheECSWarrantyPeriod.IfanysuchpartfailsduringtheECSWarrantyPeriod,itshallbe
repairedorreplacedbyTecumsehProductsCo.accordingtoSubsection4below.Anysuchpartrepairedorreplacedunder
theECSWarrantyshallbewarrantedforanyremainderoftheECSWarrantyPeriod.
2. Anywarranted,emissions-relatedpartwhichisscheduledonlyforregularinspectionasspecifiedintheOwner'sManualshall
bewarrantedfortheECSWarrantyPeriod.Astatementinsuchwritteninstructionstotheeffectof'repairorreplaceas
necessary',shallnotreducetheECSWarrantyPeriod.AnysuchpartrepairedorreplacedundertheECSWarrantyshallbe
3. Anywarranted,emissions-relatedpartwhichisscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceintheOwner'sManual,
shallbewarrantedfortheperiodoftimepdortothefirstscheduledreplacementpointforthatpart.Ifthepartfailspriortothe
firstscheduledreplacement,thepartshallberepairedorreplacedbyTecumsehProductsCo.accordingtoSubsection4
below.Anysuchemissions-relatedpartrepairedorreplacedundertheECSWarranty,shallbewarrantedfortheremainderof
theECSWarrantyPeriodpriortothefirstscheduledreplacementpointforsuchemissions-relatedpart.
4.Repairorreplacementofanywarranted,emissions-relatedpartunderthisECSWarrantyshallbeperformedatnochargeto
5. TheownershallnotbechargedfordiagnosticlaborwhichleadstothedeterminationthatapartcoveredbytheECSWarranty
isinfactdefective,providedthatsuchdiagnosticworkisperformedataTecumsehAuthorizedServiceOutlet.
6. TecumsehProductsCo.shallbeliablefordamagestootheroriginalenginecomponentsorapprovedmodificationsproximately
causedbyafailureunderwarrantyofanemission-relatedpartcoveredbytheECSWarranty.
7. ThroughouttheECSWarrantyPeriod,TecumsehProductsCo.shallmaintainasupplyofwarrantedemission-relatedparts
sufficienttomeettheexpecteddemandforsuchemission-relatedparts.
8. AnyTecumsehProductsCo.authorizedandapprovedemission-relatedreplacementpartmaybeusedintheperformanceof
anyECSWarrantymaintenanceorrepairandwillbeprovidedwithoutchargetotheowner.Suchuseshallnotreduce
9. Unapprovedadd-onormodifiedpartsmaynotbeusedtomodifyorrepairaTecumsehProductsCo.engine.Suchusevoids
thisECSWarrantyandshallbesufficientgroundsfordisallowinganECSWarrantyclaim.TecumsehProductsCo.shallnot
beliablehereunderforfailuresofanywarrantedpartsofaTecumsehProductsCo.enginecausedbytheuseofsuchan
